Plymouth Snowsports Centre is looking for a Casual Duty Manager to join the team.
This flexible role is ideal for an enthusiastic leader who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and thrives on delivering excellent customer service while supporting the day-to-day operation of one of the South West's leading outdoor leisure attractions.
Our centre offers skiing, snowboarding, sno-tubing, tobogganing and the Viper Drop, alongside our busy Alpine Lodge Bar & Kitchen, which serves food and drinks and hosts a wide range of events throughout the year. No two days are the same!
🛠What You'll Be Doing
-Leading, motivating and supporting a small team.
-Managing daily staffing requirements and staff rotas.
-Delivering outstanding customer service and ensuring every visitor has a fantastic experience.
-Supervising the safe operation of all activities and facilities.
-Handling customer enquiries and resolving issues professionally.
-Supporting the Centre Manager with the day-to-day running of the business.
-Ensuring high standards of health and safety are maintained across the site.
-Helping create a positive, productive and enjoyable working environment.
-Supporting the operation of the Alpine Lodge Bar & Kitchen. (Experience or knowledge of running a commercial kitchen is desirable.)
✅What We're Looking For
-Previous supervisory or management experience within the leisure, hospitality, visitor attraction or outdoor activity sectors.
-Confident leading and motivating a team.
-Excellent communication and organisational skills.
-Make sound decisions and remain calm under pressure.
-Passionate about delivering exceptional customer service.
-A flexible approach to working hours.
🌟Desirable (but not essential)
-Previous skiing, snowboarding or snowsports industry experience.
-Knowledge or experience of running a commercial kitchen.
-A current First Aid qualification.
⏰Working Hours
This is a casual position, with hours varying depending on operational requirements. Flexibility is essential, as shifts will include weekdays, evenings, weekends and bank holidays.
Hours are expected to increase significantly when our main ski season begins in September/October.
For the right candidate, there is potential for this role to develop into a fixed-hours contract as the business continues to grow.
